Trans-Nation Sacco Ltd (TN Sacco) formerly (THARAKA NITHI TEACHERS SACCO –TNT) was founded on 28th June 1993 under registration number C/S 6826.

TNT Sacco came after the split of MERU TEACHERS SACCO SOCIETY LIMITED whose area of operation was the larger Meru District.

This split was done very amicably. The following officials participated.

The Society operated from rented premises until end of January 2002 when it finally moved to its own offices in MWALIMU CENTRE building. The name of the SACCO was to denote the then Tharaka Nithi District curved from MERU DISTRICT. Tharaka Nithi was the main area of TNT Sacco operation. TN SACCO headquarters is located in Chuka Town with branches in the following counties.

Since its inception TN Sacco has grown to become one of the best Saccos, the 1st to computerize their services and the 1st to start FOSA in Kenya with a membership of about 2,644 members and share capital of Kshs, 72,801,862. Currently, it has total assets of 12.02 billion shillings and a membership of over 39,000 in BOSA and over 100,000 accounts in FOSA. The Sacco is also SASRA compliant deposit-taking Sacco
